EGOS WON’T STOP PACMAN-MAYWEATHER!

ANY OTHER FIGHT WOULD BE A DUMB MOVE!

Las Vegas, NV- With Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum indicating that there are no major disagreements, in other words, Floyd Mayweather has agreed to the fight, Arum will present Pacquaio with the nuts and bolts of the mega fight proposed for March or May 2010, depending on whom you talk to.

WHEN THE POWER OF MONEY WAS IGNORED

There have been times in history when the fighter in the driver’s seat, in this instance Manny Pacquiao, has, for the sake of egos, walked away from their super fight. Most recently, Shane Mosley, through his now ex-wife Jin Mosley, turned down a third fight with Oscar De La Hoya for $8 million. Shane instead took on the much bigger Winky Wright for less than 25% of the aforementioned figure, and was thumped twice in succession.

MORE EXAMPLES OF EGO OVER MONEY
In 1993, Riddick Bowe, then unbeaten was being penciled in to face amateur nemesis Lennox Lewis. Then he was upset by Evander Holyfield, aka Evan Fields, and Lewis was KO’d a year later by Oliver McCall. In 1991, Mike Tyson slipped out of a meeting with Holyfield, claiming an injury doing sit ups, thus killing their proposed encounter.

JOE FRAZIER PULLED A HUGE GAFF!

The biggest error. At least when it comes to defending champions and big money, was Joe Frazier flipping off a Muhammad Ali rematch to instead face and then be slaughtered by George Foreman.

MASSA’ BOB GOT IT DONE!

Bob Arum may have some shortcomings, but counting greenbacks is not one of them. With the Mayweather negotiations over, cooler heads than those wanting Manny to make Mayweather wait, have prevailed, and the fight of this century is on!
